The new enhanced friction material used in manufacturing our next generation brake pads improves operating life greatly, specifically in high inertia installations.
The greater the demand placed upon the product, the greater the response delivered – meeting the most exacting demands of today’s high pressure operating environments.
The increase in the life of the friction material is not made at the expense of the friction couple. The material is designed to maintain excellent rotor condition throughout the lifetime of the installation.

1. Mechanical Retention |
An integral steel mesh, stud welded to the backing plate, through and around which the friction material flows. When the friction material is cured the mechanical shear strength is greatly enhanced. |

2. Adhesive Retention |
|
The backing plate (and the steel mesh) is coated with thermo-setting phenolic adhesive. This delivers the standard industry bond for the friction material to the backing plate. Strong resistant to thermal stress. |

3. Formulated Retention |
|
The best compound for brake performance may not be the best compound for bonding. In order to ensure perfect bond conditions we insert an “interlayer” of material specifically formulated for bonding between the backing plate and the main friction material block. During moulding and curing this interlayer flows and fuses organically into the main friction block and adheres perfectly to the backing plate and steel mesh. The resulting final bond is fully secure. |
